Hello my name is Lyndsay Anderson and I am the Scotland Fundraising Manager at Honeypot Children's Charity.
Launched in 1996, The Honeypot Children’s Charity was established to help young carers create happy memories and build brighter futures by providing countryside respite breaks. In 2023, we opened the doors to our first Scottish house in Dalleagles, Ayrshire bringing joy and laughter back to what was once a local school. Our Honeypot respite house is surrounded by acres of land and jam-packed with fun activities, giving children much needed freedom and relaxation away from their caring responsibilities at home and has been a welcome addition to the local community.
We delivered our first Scotland young carers respite break in September 2023 and since then we have welcomed over 700 young carers aged 5-12 years old, from across southern and central Scotland. Our vision is to ensure that young carers do not lose out on their chance of a happy, fulfilling childhood. While we support children from across Scotland, we have a strong presence in Ayrshire and are committed to supporting young carers right here on our doorstep, giving them the chance to make happy childhood memories that last a lifetime.
