Given the varied size and needs of our clients, we operate flexibly whilst retaining a strong quality focus. Assistance is offered in several forms, including phone/email support, on-site assistance, retained services and documentation preparation. Balance HR's core areas include:
Recruitment and retention - assisting in ensuring the right people are attracted, recruited and retained within a business. Providing guidance on ensuring fair processes are in place and avoiding potential discrimination claims. Support can be with component parts of the process, e.g., designing interview questions, or as a full package from defining the business requirement/advert through to screening CVs/candidates through to job offer stage and conducting pre-employment checks.
Employee relations - advising on staff-related matters and associated employment law aspects including, but not limited to, flexible working requests, absence/performance management, disciplinary issues, contractual matters/Staff Handbooks & Terms and Conditions of Employment.
Personal/management development - support may be via group training sessions for staff,managers or directors or provided on a 1-1 basis. Sample topic areas include:ensuring managers are properly trained in interviewing skills; handling poor performance and constructive feedback; bullying and harassment; equality and diversity. Personal development topics include items such as presentation skills, communication skills, teamworking, time and stress management.
Individuals - we also provide support to individuals who perhaps do not have access to an HR department. This may be guidance around approaching a sensitive work-related issue, assistance with CV writing or interview preparation, or support in areas for personal development.
